Peter's in day camp this summer at UNC -- Carolina Kids' Camp. It's a great camp. They hang out on Carolina's campus, swim in the Navy pool (outdoors), do Arts-n-Crafts, drama, and go on field trips to cool places like Carmichael Auditorium, Kenan Stadium, and Campus Police.

It it, however, a little disconcerting for me. For example, the other day he was telling a story about some of the kids who were taking advertising flyers someone was handing out, and I asked him where they were when they got them. "The Pit" he says. (The Pit is one of the main student hangouts on campus. I don't think you're allowed to graduate unless you've said at least once, "OK, I'll meet y'all at the pit after my 11:00"). I asked him, "Why were you at the Pit?" "Oh, we were going over to play outside of Dey Hall," he said, and he even pronounced it right!

This is why it's not such a great idea to live where you went to college. Granted, I've always kinda hoped Peter would hang out at the Pit, and I certainly expect him to eventually know how to pronounced Dey correctly, I just didn't think it would happen at 6. Add this in to the fact that he and Grace both love Hector's and Time Out, and I'm feeling kinda old......
