Halloween -- the hangover.....

OK, I still love Halloween. But man, I feel oogy today. As my old college roommate used to say, I feel like death taken out of the freezer and not even THAWED yet.

Why? Not entirely sure. I didn't actually have too much candy OR red wine last night. I think it's primarily due to lack of sleep.

Here's the thing: I live about 2 miles from Franklin Street. Last night, approximately 82,000 people invaded Franklin Street. 82 THOUSAND!!! According to the 2000 census, the combined population of Chapel Hill and Carrboro is about 65,000. So, that means if EVERY person in Chapel Hill/Carrboro was on Franklin Street (which they weren't, 'cause at least three of us were home in our beds), there were still 17,000 extra people!

If you cram 82,000 people into a small area, it's going to get noisy. I was woken up about 4 times last night between 10:30 and 3 by: sirens (twice), news helicopters, and motorcycles revving their motors. Not conducive to good rest, and part of why I'm turning into a curmudgeon. I'd be far more likely to allow others their revelry if it didn't keep me awake.

So, I'm dragging today, and I feel hungover. I've had about as much caffeinne as I can reasonably drink in one day. I have my oatmeal for breakfast, but I'm thinking this is a grease and carbs kinda morning -- I see a bacon, egg and cheese bagel in my future. And OJ. Yum.
