What a great day!

OK, I am in SUCH a good mood today. I had yummy food last night at one of my favorite restaurants (Crooks, shrimp-n-grits, yum), slept late (for me) this morning, it's a beautiful day, there's basketball on TV later....

AND IT'S BASEBALL SEASON!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!

Grace had her first practice this morning. There were tons of kids back from last year, and all but one coach came back. We have a new Head Coach, who seems really nice (and has a very talented son!). The returning kids have each grown about a foot, the new kids are a nice mix between older kids and younger kids who are just learning, and while there was certainly a mix of abilities, I don't think there was anyone on the team who had to be taught what a baseball was!

Grace has really improved since last year. I knew her catching and throwing had, because I've been out playing catch with her, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much her hitting had improved! She made contact with the ball all three times she batted in the scrimmage.

There just isn't much better than being on a baseball field when the air is pleasantly chilly but the sun pleasantly warm, watching your child field a grounder or hit the ball.
